Who Is Eligible?
Are You Eligible for a Home Care Package?
Eligibility Criteria
You may be eligible for a government-funded Home Care Package if you’re over 65 years of age and need assistance to continue living independently in your own home. If you’re over 50 and identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, or if you’re on a low income, homeless, or at risk of homelessness, you may also qualify for support. These packages are designed to provide varying levels of care, depending on your specific needs.
How To Find Out If You’re Eligible
To find out if you or your loved one qualifies for a Home Care Package, the first step is an assessment through My Aged Care. We can help you arrange this assessment and guide you through the process. If you’re unsure about eligibility or the level of care needed, simply contact our team—we’re here to provide support and advice every step of the way.
NDIS or ACAT?
The NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme) and ACAT (Aged Care Assessment Team) serve different needs. The NDIS provides funding and support for individuals under 65 living with a disability, while ACAT assessments are for people over 65 who need help accessing government-funded aged care services. Both programs aim to provide personalised support, but eligibility and funding options depend on your age and specific care requirements.
